Whoa. The whole debate over the Tiptree Award? Has gone rather nasty. I personally like Em's work very much, though I've never read the story in question. I did follow her comments on it, and I have to say she obviously intended the work as play. What's happening to her sucks both for her and for the fans of her work, who are numerous.
Discussion, analysis, debate, these are all great things. But some degree of compassion and humanity wouldn't go amiss here, people.
Also, I just want to tell you folks on my flist that once again, all your comments have been both compassionate and sensible. You folks rock.
